Title: Roll-Off Truck Driver

Job Summary:

A Roll-Off Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a heavy commercial truck in order to provide prompt and courteous delivery and pickup of dumpsters. The Roll-Off Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring his or her truck is in compliance with all of Tropical Trash’s safety standards prior to the operation of the vehicle, and ensuring that all state and federal regulations are followed at all times while operating of the vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Tropical Trash’s safety policy to ensure that the fluid levels, tire pressure, gauges, safety equipment, and controls are in proper working order. Any safety issues are to be reported to your supervisor or dispatcher.
  • Safely operate and drive the roll-off truck to and from job sites, follow maps, and service each customer as identified on the work order sheet or as requested by supervisor and/or the dispatcher.
  • Operate automatic and/or manual controls in accordance with Tropical Trash’s safety policies and procedures to lift and load dumpsters and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
  • Politely interact with all customers, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are completed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform minor repairs to the roll-off truck or containers on site or at the shop as needed.
  • Continuously monitor containers for overweight loads or evidence of unacceptable waste.
  • Clean residual waste from the container and its edges on each disposal trip, and clean areas around any accidental waste spills.
  • Complete required work order sheets and other forms as requested.
  • To minimize down time, continuously monitor the condition of the roll-off truck to ensure that it is ready for operation at all times.
  • Follow all Tropical Trash required safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform various other job duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Two years of previous experience driving heavy trucks.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing position.
  • Mechanical ability to handle minor repairs and maintenance to the roll-off truck or containers
  • High School diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Class B Commercial Driver's License or higher with air brakes endorsement.
  • Must be able to pass the DOT commercial vehicle medical exam.

Title: Portable Toilet Truck Driver

Job Summary:

A Portable Toilet Truck Driver provides service to assigned portable toilet customers by driving to their job site to empty, clean, and refill toilets with deodorizing solution. The Portable Toilet Truck Driver also helps to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, as well as the designated work area and route.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Tropical Trash’s safety policy to ensure that the fluid levels, tire pressure, gauges, safety equipment, and controls are in proper working order. Any safety issues are to be reported to your supervisor or dispatcher.
  • Safely drives diesel truck to local sewage pick-up sites and to disposal area(s).
  • Climbs on and off of the vehicle at customer locations and disposal area(s) to load sewage/waste.
  • Collects domestic sewage and cleans toilets.
  • Picks up or delivers portable toilets, as assigned.
  • Dumps collected sewage waste at public water treatment facilities or at other applicable locations.
  • Politely interacts with all customers, dispatchers, and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are completed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform minor repairs to the truck or portable toilets on site or at the shop as needed.
  • Complete required work order sheets and other forms as requested.
  • To minimize down time, continuously monitor the condition of the portable toilet truck to ensure that it is ready for operation at all times.
  • Follow all Tropical Trash required safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform various other job duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of previous experience driving commercial trucks.
  • Experience driving portable toilet (pumper) vehicle.
  • Mechanical ability to handle minor repairs and maintenance to the portable toilet truck or pumps
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License or higher.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license.
